Hi all got 22 plate Octavia 2.0 diesel, wondering if anyone knows interval/replace period for timing belt

Supposedly "for life" but IIRC inspections are recommended after 120,000 miles.

 

Skoda UK used to ridiculously advise every 5 years which no other part of the worldwide VAG empire did, recently they've "seen the light" and removed this crazy advice.

Last years VW / Skoda recommendations, advice, guidelines does not necessarily include TDI,s,.  so see what the Dealerships are saying.

If a Taxi & a tool of the trade then preventative Service & Maintenance is important more than VW Group say because they are saving Dealerships servicing cars that they are selling..

Changing Cam belts etc.

If in doubt drop a mail to [email protected]  with your Reg Number (and  optionally VIN) and they will confirm the specifics for your vehicle

If this crowd are answering it will be good if they can Phone a Friend or ask the Audience and not just refer you to a Main Dealer.

Servicing regimes not being their Specialist subject...

Speaking to my buddy, vw/skoda mechanic he recommended around 100k as he has seen alot break going above 120 mark. He said skoda will say 200k but he said that from what he has seen 100k
