Radio safe

Featured Replies

Had some work done on the 4x4 and when I switched the radio on briefly it said SAFE:confused: and then worked fine. I've seen a post on here about this before but can't remember where it is or what it means. Can anyone enlighten me?

Safe is when the battery has been disconnected. When reconnected the radio needs the code to be entered hence the word "SAFE" on the display. The Octavia can send this code the the radio itself as long as its the original HU, so requires no intervention. Just set the ignition to pos1 and turn the radio on.

Thanks mate - everything working fine now ta
