I apologise.. .heads a bit fried atm..its a 2.0 tdi superb  2017

How sure are you that this is the cause? And that it’s not possibly the gearbox cooler or head gasket?

Tbh, I don't know for sure, friend had a look and this was his suggestion. I suppose the cause still has to be confirmed but I'm assuming wherever the leak is coming from obviously needs attention along with having system flushed.  Appreciate all imput advice thanks

i would try to confirm is as soon as you can, if it was the gearbox cooler, yes true oil contaminates the engine and needs a flush, but also coolant contaminates the gearbox and I do not recall they react nicely to coolant ...

Hi,

What was the outcome of your fault. Mine also has same problem, oil in coolant. It's taken me weeks to find someone to take it on.

Booked into to 2 vw specialists, waited weeks for appointment only to be told on the day it's too time consuming for them.

Mine is 2017 2.0 diesel. I've been told that there could also be problems later with water hoses failing due to oil weakening them.

What was cost of your repair. I've been quoted £1600.

Thanks

Hi...yes mine was oil cooler failure. Needed replacement.....several flushes and a new reservoir bottle, and a new rubber tube. All in cost me €900.

Any other questions just ask...

£900 is a good price. Mines in at the moment and will be £1500 all in?

I thought that was good given others wanted £1300 before seeing what was involved. Where did you get yours done.

The place I went to are diesel specialists and well established, hence the price.

Just glad it's getting done, been off the road 4 weeks.

Thanks

Mine is ineuro....Ireland. I didn’t have to replace the mini rad behind the dash for the aircon.... some do. Maybe that explains the price difference?

Hopefully sorted in a day or so.

Hi Mark. My car was repaired while I was away, they said to run for 500-1k miles and they will flush it again.

Just wanted to ask you a question.

How clean was your coolant after the repair. Did you get it flushed again.

Does your coolant look like coolant ie pink or green colour.

Mine is really black and dirty. Not as bad as but is bad.

I know it's not an easy job to clean out, just wondering how many flushes yours required.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

My coolant was pink after the job was done. Mechanic said he flushed about 15 times (could be exaggerated but obviously lots of flushes).

I'd probably ask to have it flushed again asap if in your position

Thanks.
