Ramps

Featured Replies

Want to get some ramps so that I can do oil changes. Can anyone recommend some that work for skoda superb 2017 with clearance in mind?

Hi,

Do you mean something like this ?

Otherwise, I think @JR RS has some he may recommand...

As far as I remember, they are quite similar to these ones:

Another solution could be these ones, if you intend to lift your Superb a bit higher:

RAM-2-4T-Widmann-4-Ton-Steel-Adjustable-

(Seen on Ali... I don't have them)

those r very similar to the ones i have, however they will not clear the front bumper of the Superb if the car is lowered.  forget it if u have a front splitter like me!! lol

so now i always have to use axle stands for the front.

no clearance issues with the back though.

I have ramps similar to the red (angle iron) ones - but without the jack-pads. To prevent the front splitter hitting the ramp, I made up a couple of blocks from decking planks to reduce the angle as you get onto the bottom of the ramp. Works for the rear (combi) too.

I have a couple of ramps similar to the red ones but without the fancy jack malarkey - bought 'em in 1972 for my first 'kerbside motors' venture - been using 'em for 50 years without problem until last week when I managed to drive my off the ends - amazingly, apart from my pride, no significant damage done to my Golf.........😟

I blame ATS - had new tyres fitted and wanted the tracking done too - they refused to do the job 'cause they couldn't release the track rod end nuts - pathetic bunch.

How times in a tyre shop have changed - none of the staff had a rush in 'em - only pre-booked jobs taken - and then they tell me the TRE nuts are too tight!

I sense your pain, known about this for years.

Before I have an alignment job needed, I need to, either myself, or my friend mechanic with a lift, "undo" and loose the nuts so these primadonnas do not complain about "extra effort" required ....

And almost all of them are like this! Terrible!

Another one that is a classic is after messing around with the alignment, the car still goes crooked and the answer is "steering wheel is out of true" ... 🙄

Now I found an oldtimer that is a big Alfa Romeo nostalgic like myself and he does not care to fire the oxy nd heat up stuff to loose nuts, but it has taken me like years to get to him ....
