Skoda Octavia MkII maintenance & service

Featured Replies

What am I looking for?:

- Maintenance & service intervals for the beneath mentioned car and it's parts

What car?:

- Skoda Octavia Ambiente Combi

- 1.4 TSI 122/200

- 2012

What have I found?:

The owners manual which gives the following insights;

- 95/98 Oktan only

- Oil change every 15.000km OR 1 year

- Battery change every 5 years (unless the indicator has no color OR light yellow - change immediately)

- Air filter change every 30.000km

- Fuel filter change every 90.000km

- Spark plug change every 90.000km

- Wheel change every 10.000km

Now as you can see there is quite a few things missing, and although I tried googling it it's tough to get more information than that.

Do some of you have a list or the like that gives an overview over; change x-part at x-kilometers OR after x-years?

Why do I need it?:

- To be able to have an understanding of the cars maintenance requirements & to use cross references when checking the paperwork.

Thanks in advance

Max

First one I noticed is timing belt. I do mine every 50000 miles or 5 years. If its anything like the 1.9tdi do the water pump at the same time.

Thanks! Doesn't the MkII have a chain and the MkIII the belt?

  • Brake fluid change - I think every 4 years.
  • Check/Change coolant
  • Aircon recharge - Every 2 years
  • Oil filter replace - When doing the oil change.
  • Cabin filter
  • Car alarm replace - I think every 7 years.
  • Serpentine belt - If you have one.

If not in the UK then an annual MOT style check.

Brake fluid first at 3 years and then each 2 if doing it.

Pollen filter every 2 years.    AC Recharge, if needed, not every 2 years.

Car Alarm Siren Battery was @ 5 years, they can last 10 years or more.

Spark plugs every 4 years / 40,000 miles,  If you are doing them.

Check the Air Filter every year.

*The cam belt is nothing like with a diesel nor is the water pump, Non Dust Countries were not 5 years / 50,000 miles other than VW / Skoda UK said they were.

Timing chains might last a life time, the tensioners might not.  Actually if the break that is the engines life ended.

............

Top is what Skoda had servicing showing as up til 2019.
