Hey folks,

 

just wanted to share this for those who ever plan on adding an external Amplifier or subwoofer.

 

We all know about the big T loom's for the quad lock connector, which works fine for most.

But i'm a bit of a perfectionist and i don't like a couple of things about the big T loom.

• No shielding on any of the mic or camera wire, this will introduce noise
• No twisted pairs on the speaker / CAN wiring, this will introduce noise
• Big and bulky, making it a tight fit behind the MIB.

 

So i wanna do it a bit differently.

 

Inside the factory connector, there is a brown plug. Which handles the speakers.

I removed this part from the connector and built a T harness for the speaker part alone.

 

This greatly reduces the size of the harness, and doesn't disturb the rest of the factory loom.

Looks neater and is completely removable.

 

 

 

Some companies also make premade looms as this same connector is used in Mercedes Benz and other VAG vehicles.
