Hatboy Harvey has a 1.9TDI doesn't he? His MAP sensor is going to be different and in a different place than on a 1.2 petrol.

Held in by 1 or two screws at most on yours I should think, might well be standard Torx screw yes.

What makes you think it needs replacing? They almost never do on your engine type.

This ebay listing for a cgpa inlet manifold shows the position, on the opposite end of the manifold to the throttle body.

Second from last pic even shows the screws and part numbers.

I'd be checking the chain timing if it was mine. (Crankshaft/camshaft correlation problem).

if its either should the car start ?

ive found a low-mileage engine

i could do with it starting before I swap them

If the chain has jumped a tooth somewhere you really don't want to be trying to start it.

But if that has happened, any damage was probably done straight away as soon as it jumped.

Did the problem occur at start-up, or while driving? What symptoms were there?

a few weeks ago i ran over the ramp at work took a tire out and the passenger side abs wire out in replacing this I didn't get the pipe on properly from the air box and the scanner saw a leak and it was fixed the car was running fine until I stopped the car that was  some days ago the car refused to start although when its cold the first attempt it makes a small cough but nothing more the warning light for the cam positioning  has been on some time hence the swapping of engines

Did you park it in gear on a hill?

did a compression test, and the gauge showed nothing on all cylinders but released pressure audibly by depressing the button on cylinders 2 and 3 but not cylinder 1 the gauge is a cheap one and has been in the button of a toolbox for years, and is more than likely broken I have a good spark  to number 1 cylinder at least the plug gaps look a little wide the colour was brown and damp I even tried a dose of easy start but there was no attempt for the engine to start  looks to me I have damage to the valves time for a replacement engine me thinks   time for a new motor
