Auto box creep

Featured Replies

Hi, I am thinking of buying a used Karoq, say 2020-2022. Can you tell me if this DSG box has a creep function which is very useful when parking and slow manoeuvring. My Mercedes has a torque converter box and that is fine when creeping; just control the car with the brake but i have read that some DSG boxes don't do this.

Thanks in advance,

Carmine. ( I mistyped that when I registered, how do I correct it?)

I've asked a Moderator to look at this for you.

I think your question about creep will depend on what engine and DSG combination you have.  My DQ250 Golf (2.0 litre) creeps.  Mrs Gaz's DQ200 Polo (1.8 litre) also creeps, but a friends 1.2 Fabia with the same DQ200, from the same year as Mrs Gaz's Polo, doesn't creep.  The DSG's have differing settings according to what car they're in.

I am looking at a 1.5 SEL petrol auto

Welcome. They do not really creep but you touch the accelerator gently and they move. Touch the brake gently and they stop. Enable Autohold and if you press the brake pedal harder Autohold is holding the car with your foot off the brakes pedal, still in drive. Touch the accelerator to move.

A quick count says that you have made 4 posts, all in this thread, and none of them have a video link.

You might already know this but in case not there is a site section for each model with forums that will give you detailed information on models from often their owners so real life experiences and knowledge. For Karoq 2020-2022 - Škoda Karoq - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/365-škoda-karoq/

You have a Toyota yet you also have a Merc and looking at another German marque, that is well beyond my comprehension but each to their own, good luck.

Perhaps you done what I've sometimes done and not pressed, or properly pressed, the 'Submit Reply' button (usually after I've one-finger typed a very long post) or you had a computer glitch on your device / web / site.  Post it again (unless there's something about new member and no attachments until a certain number of posts or sumfink).
