Delete Old Destinations on Sat Nav

Featured Replies

I can't delete old destinations from the Sat Nav.  Looking on this forum, it says you touch the destination you want to delete and swipe it to the left.  A delete bin then appears and you click on this to do the deletion.  The trouble is that when I touch the old destination, the sat nav thinks I want to go there and displays the route.

Am I doing something wrong?  Better still, is there another simpler way to delete the old destinations?  Thanks.

That is the way to do it, but it’s a knack! I think it’s a case of touching and swiping at the same time, more like dragging. I know I’ve done it eventually!

I can only echo that comment.  When you get the knack it is easy, however, getting the knack.....

Sorry to resurrect an old topic BUT what is the knack? The last SD card satnav update (Mib 2) appears to have scrambled some of my destinations. I am trying to delete them in order to reinstate new correct ones using the same names.

What else can I try? So far tries have been:

  1. Light touch, swipe left on just the destination name.

  2. Light touch, swipe left starting on the arrow triangle on the right of the destination name.

  3. As per the above two but with a heavier touch

  4. Start the swipe away from the screen and just touching down to continue the swipe.

Nothing has worked. All attempts have just taken me to the Route guidance.

Will setting a new destination and giving it the same name over write the 'old' data. I have not tried that yet although it doesn't answer the problem I am having with deletion.

Any thoughts will be most welcome.

As Hamlet said ... "ay there's the rub"

I think it’s a hover and swipe now as I was attempting to do this last night.

Hover and swipe did not work.

I then tried setting up another destination with the same name. The system allowed me to do it. So now I have two different destinations with the same name and I cannot delete either.

Not with my wife either. Oh, you mean the Nav system!....

Seriously, I think I had my finger on the screen. You have to start at the extreme right of the box and sort of drag the edge to the left. A bit like with deleting called numbers on an iPhone.

Once you get it: it is obvious until you forget, as I usually do, and start a new thread in a years time....

Just done mine. I did it from the list rather than the diagram. Lightly touch and move left at the same time brings up delete. Took about 5 minutes todo it but several times the system tried to start navigation.

I have done it after touching (not swiping) the '>' to the right of the destination name. Most of the time this brings up a menu that includes an 'Edit' option. Touch 'Edit' and the 'Delete' option appears.

I say "most of the time" because sometimes it does not seem to work. I have not yet worked out why.

Not a swipe anywhere.

I found the following after searching my computer for an old copy of the Owners Manual.

I had misread the significance of '>' in the third bullet point,Screenshot2025-03-09at15_25_14.thumb.png Tom
