Injector problem!

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi (cayc)

Car went into limp mode and had no power what so ever!

Plugged in and no engine faults at all, was smoking so suspected injector.

Went through live data and everything corresponding to injector 4 was on 0.

Swapped the injector from 3 to 4 and it revved out and ran fine but assumed injector 4 still as the issue followed suit.

Replaced the injector and was running fine for about 10 miles and back to square one... no values on injector 4.

Sent the ECU off for testing to which they confirmed there was faults related to the problems I was having (bonus!)

Just fitted a full ECU set and still have the same problem! Frustrating!!

Had the injector plugs load tested and they said they are fine.

See photos attached.

Thanks in advance!

Not injector related but my 1.9tdi did the same. Limp mode all of a sudden with no warning lights. If I stopped and started the car again it seemed to clear the limp mode for a while then randomly it would happen again. Got no fault codes either. It was a seizing actuator/turbo  . Not sure on yours but mine is a VNT turbo so either the actuator was stiff or the fins on the turbo were stuck. I sprayed actuator with wd40 and kept manually operating it until it freed off. Been fine ever since. Mine always smoked a little on startup because one of the glowplugs is dead.

Hi all.

I'm having a similar issue with my 2017 1.9TDI Manual Superb Estate.

for about 8 months now, warm or cold start, straight away or 30- 60 mins into a drive 10mph or 70mph My car will start stuttering as if the front breaks are rappidly being applied. stops when I take my foot off the accelerator. no error codes.  Some time I'll have to pull over and turn off the car and restart the car it will happen straight away or it'll be gone and the car runs fine. It some times goes away if I up shift but not always. turning off front assist doesn't affect it. turning off park assist doesn't affect it. I've brought it to the garage twice and they could not get it to happen. no error codes with injectors or fuel related sensors. The only consistant charactoristic is it stops if Itake my foot off the accelerator. If I try to push through and increase the aceloration it worsens and the car goes into limp mode (I've not brought it back to the garage yet to check fault codes since limp mode). I'm not sure how else to diagnose without fault codes.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks

Aaron

I bought a cheap code reader XTOOL VAG401. It was only £35-00 and I had my doubts but it actually works. Reads and displays codes and can reset them too. Its a bit slow and I havent used it enough to get the hang of it but it now lives in the glovebox. Was going to get VCDS but was a bit short of money.

Your problem may be related to an accelerator drive by wire fault?? which I am afraid is well out of my comort zone.

Looks like the Xtool vag401 is now discontinued. Pity because it didn't need batteries or a smartphone for it to work. Was hoping to get another one so I could have one in each car as they were really cheap. Not sure what their new versions or if theres something similar.
