Pikey suspension mods?

Featured Replies

A wonderful blast down the A39 at the weekend has led me to the conclusion that I have way more poke than the chassis can handle.

Problem is I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment so are there any pikey suspension mods, and will they apply to the combi also?

You could use some spring spacers between the coils to reduce the suspension travel.

This would possibly be the worse pikey mod of them all though

Spacers are for wimps - just trim the springs to the desired length ;)

Is your car standard or remapped?

I know a good mod that costs nothing and will sort out the handling:

SLOW DOWN!

Or get some bigger balls ;) and drive "on the edge"

Just cut the springs :o.

How did this conversation end up on Briskoda, this is normally one for saxosportsclub

distribute bricks around the car to get a nice even low ride height.

It'll be lower so it much handle better.

I've just sewn my sides up after reading that lot

The car is a standard PD100 combi with a 2 stage analogue tuning box, it goes very well especially mid-range and it's this aspect that is causing the problems.

I was right on the edge and that was only at fast A road speeds (60-80), horrible pitching on undulating roads and a massive lack of grip when changing direction at speed.

Would vRS 16" wheels make a difference?

Would vRS 16" wheels make a difference?

You'd be better off putting the money towards Eibach springs and dampers imhe :D
