Rusty/leaky Felicia windscreen

Featured Replies

I’ve not had my pickup long and have found a crazy amount of water under the dash, popped the plastic off from below the windscreen and have found this rust patch, this must be the leaks source surely? Any advice on if it’s worth the welding work as I paid 2k for the pickup and sills also need doing, thanks

I doubt a large volume of water will get in there...   Have you checked the plenum drains aren't blocked?

Water leak is sneaky, it can be from the doors snd slowly make a tiny channel and collected below pedals or the fuse box.

It happened to me few times.

Clean first the drain grooves (left-right) in the pillars.

@Naze behind the door panel is a naylon sheet, sometimes gets worn-have holes-unpluged etc and it's not tight as it should be and does not seals properley, then there is no waterproofness and drops are comeind down and slowly are drived behind the pedals or the fuse box.

If you open the panel check it and replace it if needed, you can buy thick naylon from a convenience  or tools store store-cut it and apply it.

It is the windscreen seal, common problem with the Felicia, lots of threads on here about it, including one somewhere on how to solve it with sealant.

On top of this I sealed all the way around, and between the windscreen wiper plastic cowl and windscreen seal once it was refitted.

cmon remove the windscreen and treat it

Agree with others that Felicia water leaks can be very vexing and hard to identify, and indeed seriously damaging if not pinned down and fixed in good time.

In my case I learned, in restropect, that my evasive problem had been poor windsceen seals.

As luck would happen I had elected to hand-repaint my Feli, which was a great success, and the consequent sealing of the rubbers around the windscreen cured all the water ingress problems without any need to rip out the windscreen and apply fancy sealants.

Thank you everyone, nice to see such fast helpful feedback as soon as I needed it! Unfortunately my pickup is rotten down the sills to the rear beam so I’m selling it, I’ve always wanted one and I wanted to chimney sweep out of one but I think I’ll have to get by with my mk2 golf, dipping my toe into the Skoda scene for a few weeks was fun lol thank you and goodbye!
