MyŠkoda app v8 - activating or standby

Featured Replies

Morning all.

Version 8 of the MyŠkoda app appeared on my phone this week. It’s worked fairly well up until now but this version only seems to work when the car ignition is actually on.

It’s very irritating as mine is a plug in hybrid and I like to be able to set the charging / departure time the night before. My days flex based on kid droop off and working pattern so I don’t want to have to do it form the car each night.

The app seems to stay on “standby” or “activating”. It also shows the car as always unplugged…even when I can see the car charging outside!

Anyone else having this issue?

Mine sometimes takes a while to come online, as per this info screen.

Try resetting or uninstalling and reinstalling the app if it persists.

Yes I read that too. Also tried a reinstall… no luck

really odd is I can flash the light / beep the horn form the app… so there is a connection

That is normal behavior for the app since it was first rolled out, no matter the version. Most of the time data still goes to the car, but app can't retrieve anything form the car back. If you stand next to your car and activate heating, you will often hear it actually starts even though app doesn't show anything.
Also, use departure planner to preheat it in the morning or when you finish work. You don't need an app for that.

What’s irritating is that last week it did all work - really quite well!

Also as it doesn’t know if the car is plugged in or on charge. I can’t start ot stop it remotely

I’m wondering if some of the data associated with the app is corrupted which hasn’t been cleared by reinstalling it.

On both iPhone and Android there is a way to delete apps and their data, but buried in the settings. The quick easy way to delete an app doesn’t always clear all data.

Mightn't be related to the app, like the other posters said it's not an uncommon issue. I've the latest version of the app a while and this week I both had immediate responses that the car is heating for me, including this afternoon, but this morning I was getting the error message but when I went out the car was toasty.

After much button bashing… I think I’ve found what’s mysteriously changed. The allow access “toggle” had been unchecked…. Strange, as if never been into that part of the app before

seems ok now!

Interesting…

That option doesn’t apply to my car - must be an iV thing 😉

Anyway, good that it’s now working.

I had the same thing this morning. I think that some of the time it is a Skoda server issue, rather than the app, because all the commands to the car from the app go through their servers, whereever they are. I checked the Vehicle Data Access and mine was still on.

My 2020 mk3fl superb lost all internet connection to the servers on Sunday, would not restore. Monday am was working fine except Skoda connect keeps putting itself in private mode green tick. In Settings Skoda connect is ticked but striped rather than solid . If I keep tapping the tick it eventually goes green and reconnects but when ignition turned off quite often reverts to private mode . I am wondering if it is an app or server issue any ideas. Globe goes grey shows the locked key , then she. Do above works a while and randomly goes back to private mode ( tick striped )

On a previous (non-Skoda) car, access to servers and therefore vehicle, tended to be flaky at the start of the month. It was put down to server capacity being taken up users downloading journeys etc for expense mileage claims. Not sure how true that was ...

Hello guys, I’m having the same issue. It stands in standby mode and doesent update the status of the car, the other day I forced a synchronization and set public to private then private to public, and it worked for a few hours. Now it doesent update unless I force a profile synchronization ( at least seems to work like that) any ideas?
