Sat Nav - how to

Featured Replies

Being a newcomer to Skoda, previously various incarnations of VW Golf, a couple of questions, can you enter just a postcode to set a route on the nav and secondly once you have completed a journey, how on earth do you remove the nav map from the digital display dash, I’m sure it’s simple when you know how!

Thanks

You can use postcodes but I personally gave up with it. I found that the simplest method of putting in destination is to use the Map option on the My Skoda app. This uses Google maps to get the details, then send the route to the car. Thd Nav screen will display a prompt just start route to get going. You need to Stop a route when you arrive at the destination - touch the screen top left. Deleting is a knack - sort of hover and swipe right to get up delete button.

I agree with @thamestrader the native satnav is truly awful, I’ve always found that a good metric for usability is if you can input an address/postcode without having to refer to any instructions, it’s really not very intuitive.

Google Maps/Apple Maps/Waze - take your pick, all infinitely easier and better to use.

I use Google Maps via Android Auto

Not a fan of the native navigation.  Plus, you don't get live traffic unless you pay the sub after the first year
