Front suspension

Featured Replies

I've got a 2013 mk2 face-lift octavia scout.

Im looking new front struts, I've checked on autodoc and LLL carparts catalog but there are so many different part numbers etc. I have a pic of my build option sticker attached and carparts catalog but which do I go for.

G06 is shown on the white build code label, so the OEM part number for the front shock absorbers is 1T0413031JD.

Although L61 is shown on the white build code label, the car doesn't also have build code G02...so the front shock absorbers don't have OEM part number 1K0413031BL.

The Octavia MK2 2.0TDI 103kW/140PS 4x4 has 288x25mm front brakes with build code 1ZE. These are associated with front steering knuckles that use front shock absorbers with 55mm struts. 1K0413031BL are front shock absorbers with 50mm struts, so can't be correct for this car. L61 relates to the front springs and can be used with both 50mm and 55mm front struts.

I was lucky and found a VAG label left on mine that I could just read part number. The PR code label is missing on my car and none in the handbook either.

Cheers so had a look on Autodoc n found this, this correct? AutodocPN.thumb.jpg.1b4644d71d1aec1af559cbcf7f3d6b4f.jpgAutodocPN2.thumb.jpg.f9fdc3c7a82b72c468f11e1000a1b4e3.jpg

I would get top mounts as well while your at it. Not sure if the shocks correct but seems to match your build code. Just realised where you are. Hope you don't have to return anything.

1T0413031JD is listed against Sachs 317 575 front shock absorbers, so if this is correct they should fit.

1T0413031JD is also listed against Bilstein B4 22-183729, so these front shock absorbers should also fit if the listing is correct.

Sometimes listings have mistakes in them, so do bear that in mind when ordering.

I use KYB shocks etc and have done for years and find their shocks/springs and catalogue pretty good. Their shocks and springs are on a few of my cars and no problems so far

If I remember there were two types on my 1.9tdi. 50mm diam strut 22mm rod and 55 diam strut 25mm rod.

The following came up for your car if I got the correct one on their online lookup

KYB324703 50mm/22mm

KYB325700 55mm/25mm

The part number1T0413031JD comes up with KYB335808 55mm/25mm which is not listed in online lookup for your car but?

In there pdf catalogue they all show up so I assume they are compatible

KYB335808 55mm/25mm

KYB334834 50mm/22mm

KYB324703 50mm/22mm

KYB325700 55mm/22mm

Have a good look to see if theres an OEM label left on either of yours. Think its on or near the flattened section of strut.

Had the same problem when looking for mine and as said was lucky. Managed to make one label from what was left on both sides.

Just remembered you can look up Sachs/ZF catalogue using numberplate. Not sure if it will work due to where you are. It may help narrow it down for you. Have come accross a few errors on autodoc in the past. I always double check with the manufacturer catalogue
