Help with Activating Travel Assist / Road Sign Display – Lane Assist Not Working

Featured Replies

This is my 1st post, please be kind 😀

Hi all,

I’ve been trying to enable Lane Assist and Travel Assist on my Skoda Superb SE L using OBDeleven, with help from someone experienced in VAG coding.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  • A5 camera module: 2Q0 980 653

  • Infotainment (5F): MIB2 Standard – MU-S-ND-ER (J794, software 0478)

  • ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control): Working perfectly

  • Used OBDeleven to manually code Lane Assist, steering intervention, and vibration on lane departure (Byte 09 set to 1D in A5)

However, I’ve hit two snags:

  1. Lane Assist isn't working at all (no intervention, no warning — even though it’s coded)

  2. Tried enabling Dynamic Road Sign Display, but I'm getting “Error: Dynamic Road Sign Display” on the dash

From what I’ve read, I might need a FEC/SWaP activation code (or patch) to unlock these features properly in the infotainment.

I have OBDeleven Pro, so I'm happy to test/code things myself — just not sure what else to try without unlocking it properly.

Any advice, or can anyone recommend someone who does remote FEC activation or patching for Skoda?

Thanks a lot in advance!

What steering wheel do you have?

I activated recently, need coding for Gateway, Radar, Camera and BCM. To turn on, you need TA button on steering wheel

Hi there and thank you for replying.

I have attached a picture of my steering wheel.

Do you have the guide you used to activate the feature? I would be extremely grateful if you can share anything with me to active the feature :)

First, you need adapter to have TA button or new steering wheel + adapter(better solution). I can help with adapter

For road signs SWaP code needed

TravelAssist activation:
09 BCM — Adaptation:
[VO]_Aussenlicht_Blinker:
[LO]_Travel_Assist_Blinken: [VN]_active

19 Data Bus OBD Interface — Adaptation:
[VO]_Multi_function_steering_wheel_control_module Coding Value:
[LO]_FoD Travel Assist: [VN]_activated.

A5 Front sensor for drivers assistant systems — Coding:
[LO]_Hc_variante: [VO]_Variante_2.

13 Distance regulation — Coding:
[LO]_Travel_Assist: [VO]_Activated.

Hi there,

Can you help me with the TA button please?

Regarding the SWaP codes, can you help me with that?

I think the TA button is only on the facelift Superbs. My 2016 one didn’t have it, my 2023 one does. Your steering wheel looks pre-facelift? So you probably don’t need the TA button, it was kind of on by default in pre-FL. What year is your car?

Hi there, my car is a 2020 SE L model, I hope that helps

I think that puts it post-facelift? But it would depend on when the car was actually built, rather than sold I guess, as it’s close to the change. My 2023 model has a different steering wheel with heating and a separate button for travel assist, your wheel looks like my old 2016 car.

With my old car it was easy to activate traffic sign recognition via VCDS, but it didn’t really have a separate button for”travel assist” mode. It did have adaptive lane guidance which worked well.

I have sighed around and I believe my vehicle was manufactured Jan 2020....

Please let me know how to activate the road sign recognition, I have odb11 device, would that be OK to use to activate the road sign recognition? How do I get a SWaP code for it?

Is there a guide or videos or anything that I can follow?

Really appreciate your help guys :)

The pre-facelift has a 3Q0 front camera, where traffic sign recognition can be activated through coding/adaptations. The authors Superb has a 2Q0 camera, which requires a SWaP code.

For reference:

The first FL versions were produced from 07.2019 to 07.2020, featuring old steering wheels but a new 2Q0 camera.

From 07.2020 onwards, they came with new steering wheels and MIB3.

The author has the first FL version, so activating TA is quite simple - it only requires a compatible steering wheel and units coding I mentioned above(in case all required units exists).

Regards,

I can't help with SWaPs remotely, need ODIS and online.

For TA you need to buy new steering wheel. And figure out with coding of LA. I believe there a lot of guide in internet.
After that you can PM me about adapter.
