I have now owned my new to me Superb Mkiii Wagon for 3 months and 5,000 km. I have swapped out the 19" wheels for 17" and gone to 235/55 x 17 tyres to try to get more compliance on our scrappy back roads. The change has helped a lot but I have enquired about Bilstein shocks for it and been told ones for my model are not obtainable in Australia. My car is a Style variant and has Sport/normal/ economy modes selectable by push button on the console.

I would be even willing to install standard Skoda regular height (not Style or Sport)springs and shocks to get away from the paranoia I have on roads I drive on.

I have touched the front underbody down too many times at speed to not try and make a change ! Any advice would be appreciated !Screenshot_20250324_134505_Photos.jpg

I have a similar problem to yours, but so far I have managed with only a couple scrapes, and being very very careful when I enter an uneven patch.

I am toying with a crazy idea, very back in my mind, but you could get on to it, and that would be to acquire and install the "Scout" version suspension components, which claims has a higher ground clearance compared to the "normal" models, I think only a few cm, but enough perhaps to clear some stuff.

Hi MartiniB, thanks you have given me some hope that I may be able to get some direct shipped from Europe if the Australian Bilstien agent can't source them. Would your data bank for the suspension change know the part number for a rear shock for a wagon ? I presume the sedan rear shock you have used is a different part number ?

Not sure on how they do it now but on the older Octavia the rear was done on longer springs and the front had spacers above the top mounts also with longer springs. I believe there are places that do top spacers for the rear too.

The above combined with larger diameter tyres (you've done that already) gives the total height gain.

If it were me I'd go for B6 shocks and longer or stiffer springs. Longer would probably work better with the stiffer shocks. Otherwise you have double extra stiffness.

With the added height you might find that a stiffer rear bar is needed to combat some roll.

Good comment above about the springs being "soft", this is also producing excess chassis/body movement which can be detrimental!🙂

I am using DCC almost always on Sport, and i noticed the added rigidity is less of a bother compared with the large, excessive body roll/pitch usually associated with the "Normal/Eco" settings ...

I am headed towards Eibach for a spring/shock package to raise the car 20-30mm. Would anyone know the part numbers for front and rear springs for a Skoda Mk3 wagon in Style configuration ?

tis the reason why a number of Superb owners, including myself, with DCC suspension have done the DCC Slider Mod + DCC Recalibration.

no more softness.

no more wallowing.

no more bottoming out.

no more body roll (when paired with lowered springs and/or uprated rear swaybars).

the DCC Slider Mod updates the Superb's suspension algorithm to that used by the Arteon (which is the exact same size as the Superb). hence rebounds and compressions r more controlled and better composed overall.

the factory DCC algorithm loaded in the Superb is not suited for it all, hence the undesirable effects. likely they just used a "vanilla" version.

the DCC Recalibration updates the suspension's max and min travel lengths, thus allowing the suspension module to control in the shocks most efficient suspension travel range.

Hi JR RS, who did the recalibration for you ? What hook up did they use to do it ? I presume it's not just via the OBD cables. Where do you find the Arteon files ?

the DCC Recalibration u can perform urself using OBDEleven or VCDS.

instructions below.

the DCC Slider Mod requires specialist tools and has a lot more "complicated" steps as it also involves updating the Gateway module firmware aswell.

a guy in Sydney, Julian, who did it for me. he has done it to a quite a number of Superb owners in Sydney.

i believe there is also someone in Brisbane and/or Melbourne who has the laptop and specialist to enable the Julian to perform it remotely.

PM me if u want his details.

will send it to u shortly.

cost wise - it will cost u just 12% of wat u will spend on those Bilsteins.

I could not access any messages as I have not been active enough to send or receive PM's. Is there anyway you would be game to put his contact details up as a post ?

There is quite a few blokes in Sydney (Facebook does not show exact suburb, just Sudney) with that name - I am spamming them 1 by 1 now. Thanks JR - I will try this 1st before shock swaps !

Recalibrate yes, I have to get my head out of my butt and see to find some time to get it done, possibily before the next trip, to see how it is.

While the slider mod from multiple topics it is mentioned, it appears we are in an unfortunate geographical location, yet ... we will get there, I hope!

Leolito I will post how it goes for me

@leolito

it's not about geography,

i haven't seen any positive report about DCC Slider mod implementation on Mk3.FL ☹️

Really, Martini*? I thought it was just because we were not in UK or around ... I need to find someone who likes to make adaptation play at high level, I had a guy that reconfigured an A8 D3 long time ago but I lost his contact, there must be someone

* can't help it, sorry, but every time I see your nick writing something, the mind goes to ...

I've only seen positive reports, first hand, and even from FL Superb owners here in Oz that have done the DCC Slider Mod and loved it.

The pre-facelift and facelift use the same DCC shocks.

Wat negative reports have u read?

Do u know someone in Europe that has successfully done it?

As far as I know, people r still on the hunt for someone in Europe to b able to do it as there a number of Superb owners there who r keen to get it.

I am one for starters, I have earmarked all the topics on the subject.

In hindsight, I shoulda bought an Arteon R ... but I could not bear myself to like it, nor miss the legroom and cargo capacity. Plus I like Czech beer more than German one! 😁

I intend to search more to see who can do this.
