Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a Skoda Fabia, 1200cc, 2007 model. Problem, central locking activates by itself, locks/unlocks, whilst driving. Also does it when parked. Fault is intermittent.

Have changed key fob battery.

Any suggestions please.

Kind regards.

Does it have "anti-hijack"?

Does your model hav the button on the dash to lock unlock the system from inside of the car ? if yes this switch or cables going to it can be loose or faulty if no then it's a door restraining strap removal door wide open and check the connection that goes into the door from the inner panel normally a good clean up of this plug and socket sort this issue out but have known the lock on the drivers door to cause this issue due to corrosion did cure a friends car by spraying WD on the lock from inside the door with the card removed all worth a try good luck

Thanks for the ideas. I will start to go through them and will post the outcome. The doors can be locked/unlocked from inside by a button that sits in front of the gear lever. Like you suggested I will check connections. I have noticed that when I unlocked the car there is a slight delay in the passenger door unlocking. I think that this will be my first door wiring to check.

Kind regards.

I have an old seat that does the same. Its I think got an auto door lock feature when you go above a certain speed doors lock. On mine i am pretty certain its a fault in the drivers door lock/switch. Never did get round to fixing it. Just lived with the click clunk while driving at lower speeds.

Thanks for the reply. No my fabia hasn't got this feature. As suggested above I need to check connections, but like you say there is a chance its a faulty door sensor.

Kind regards.

When ours was doing this a few years ago, it turned out to be a cracked solder joint on the circuit board within the passenger front lock module.

You can often work out which lock has the problem by unlocking with remote, then opening a door. The one with a bad connection probably won't be recognised as having opened, and car will self-lock again with door wide open.

Thanks for the reply. I will try to isolate the door. Kind regards.
