Skoda Octavia mark 3 Sat nav update

Featured Replies

Hi all

I followed all the instructions regarding updating my Sat nav. However, when I put the Škoda sd card back in, the system says no navigation available.

What have I done wrong?

I downloaded the update.

Extracted the file and put it in the Škoda sd card.

Any help welcome.

Wish I had left it alone now.

Thanks

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Have you checked the lock switch on the side of the SD card?

It's possible that it got switched during handling.

Hi.

I have tried it locked and unlocked and it is the same.

I had the same issue, have you formatted the card and extracted all the file from fresh?

The solution was to copy a specific old file back onto the card and mine started working again, I'll try and find which one it is as I did it a while ago.

I was a bit confused whether I was supposed to use a new sd card or the original Skoda one. I tried using a new sd card but that didn’t work, so decided I had to use the Škoda sd card. I formatted it, extracted the file and put it on the Škoda sd card, but nothing all the original info on the Škoda card is now gone.

Thank you for your help

If you plug the card back into you PC can you see a file called "OVERALL.NDS" ?

Well the fix that worked for me was to delete the new one and replace that with the original file. I have it still hang on a sec and i'll send it over...

I have tried that at it still isn’t working.

Doh

Damn that was the only thing that worked for me after hours of scratching my head. Just got my sd card out of the car I'll upload you my whole file system to see if that works.

That’s very kind of you. Thank you.

Make sure your card is unlocked and format your card again in the FAT32 format.

Your root folder should look like this once the files are copied over.

Are you using a pc or Apple? Apple adds on files which have to be deleted. There is a thread somewhere on this forum explaining this.

Thank you for all your efforts. Unfortunately it still isn’t working.

The folder has the maps folder in it, but not the tow other files that you have shown in the photo.

I really don’t understand.

I really appreciate all the time you have taken to try and help though, it really is much appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi.

I am using a pc.

Hmm I'm not sure then the zip folder I have sent should have all the files shown in it when you extract it, maybe not the "System Volume Info" folder as this is hidden, but should have the .txt file.

I wouldn't panic if I was you. It could merely be a corrupt download. I'm assuming your unit is the Amundsen so you must use the original Skoda sd card. From what you describe your unit is not recognising the contents of the sd card. Just format the card again and make sure you DO NOT extract the map to the sd card. Instead, simply extract the map to a folder on your pc then copy and paste the extracted folder named " maps " to your sd card. You don't need to copy the 2 other files if they're present. They're not needed. If that doesn't work then re-download the map and try using winzip or winrar to extract the map.
