Featured Replies

well i have just been for my first year service and well the service the dealership offered was excellent they got me in straight away and picked up my car from work.:D But they forgot to stamp my service book the main reason why i spent

They always seem to forget to stamp the service book................................lol !

Apparently its common practice NOT to wash. It’s low on the priority list. Service book is inexcusable. Play hell with them!!

Where was the service book left?

If its not on the passenger seat or easily obtainable i.e sat in the top of the glovebox I dont fill them in either. Im not routing through someones stuff to find it, you see all sorts in customers cars..lol

You know its going in for a service, leave it out then it wont get forgotten.

well the service book is where they are normally kept in the glove box not really out of site and the glove box was empty. wasn't really fussed about them not washing it althougth the service advisor said that it had been done.

Whenever i've taken a car for a service i've left the service book on the passenger seat, its always been stamped. ;)

Yep service book and locking wheel nut key are always left on the passenger seat. It's worth checking the service book has been stamped before you leave too, that way you can go back in and get it stamped ;)

Agree with Chris, always leave my locking wheel nut key and service book on the passenger seat.

Never had any problems....

Yes, leave the Service Book on the seat when you give them your car, and then check its been stamped, and check that you still have the locking wheel nut adapter when you pick it up after the work has been done.

Not sure about them washing the car and hoovering it out  I can do that in my own time, free of charge, with more care, and more thoroughly, all I want them to do is the job which I'm not qualified to do - the service - and I expect them to do it well. I always wash and hoover out the car before it goes in to the dealer, because I like to think that technicians appreciate working on a clean, well cared for car, rather than one that looks like it's owned by a stinky 'al tramp that likes living in ****e. Not sure if this really works as planned, maybe the "resident" technicians would like to respond.

......and keep an eye on how many miles have been added on afterwards. Wife's car (Nissan) grew by over 14 miles recently. Too much for a 'road test' (and it was just in for a standard service rather a driving fault) and besides, after writing to the service manager, his technician claimed that he hadn't taken it out at all! Pure magic then......!
