Rear seatbelt alarm ‼️

Featured Replies

Hi, Quick question about the rear seatbelt safety alarm. Just came home with some shopping placed on the rear seat and the safety belt alarm was pinging all the way home. Is there an easy way without the OBD mods to silence this or do I need to attach the seatbelt each time. I thought about deactivating the in car monitoring but only after arriving home and parked. Not sure what the in car monitoring is actually used for. Cheers 👋🏻

Your floor or boot surely would be a lot less hassle than messing around with mods?

You may disconnect sensors under the seat.

If the sensors are monitored for open or closed circuit (I don't know if they are just raising it as a possible issue) then this would cause fault codes to be stored.

I disconnected mine, no problems. Just in case connected it back before MOT and then disconnected again.

Ok thanks 👍🏻 I guess it’s another new inforced security control that was not like this on the previous 2018 version. I didn’t weigh the bag but must have been much lighter than a person so the sensors are too sensitive or not setup correctly. Allowing the driver to turn off the sensor like the lane assist would have been a much better idea or set them to a more realistic weight. Of course the boot and floor are options but I never had a problem with my last VRS.

No new regulation or the likes.

Personally seat belts are fastened for the MOT and still fastened to the next MOT unless a passenger is going in the rear. If there is the seat being used that is why i get a warning if not belted up.

Seat belts fastened can be used to try keeping messages / shopping maybe cracking my skull in the even of an accident.
