Hi,

Just bought a 2015 Mk3 Fabia (RHD if it makes a difference) which has MirrorLink but doesn't seem to have CarPlay, it doesn't seem to have a radio unit in the glovebox either.

Having a read it looks like it could be as simple as changing out the unit behind the screen?

Here's the current specs under system information:

Device part number: 5Q0035820

Hardware: H11

Software: 0135

Media Codec: 1003.113.1.15 prod

Any info/price on how to get CarPlay or an upgraded unit would be great, thanks!

Indeed you need to change unit behind the screen (infotainment reader, glove box unit). New unit must be patched to enable new features. I can deliver such unit, in Plug&Play version - drop me a PM if you are interested.

Probably SmartLink is not enabled. Do you have any diagnostics tool to turn developer mode on?

But if it's not activated, why do I see Apple CarPlay there?

It's easy to get them on the display (by adjusting adaptation channels) but if FEC/SWaP code is not inactive or missing then it will not operate.

Turn developer mode on, enetr service mode and check list of installed FEC/SWaP codes.

Is it possible that these are two completely identical software? and that's why it's being deactivated?

I don't see valid FEC/SWaP codes for Aple CarPlay (60800) and Android Auto (60900), just MirroLink (60300) is activated. This is probably the root cause of your problem.
