Just been told at the 2 year service I should also have the air con service, brake fluid change and front diff oil change! I know it's personal preference but seems excessive at 20k miles? Car is 2023 petrol vrs dsg

Sounds like the dealer is taking you for a ride. A/C service will probably be a £4 bomb from Halford or similar and no gas recharge, brake fluid could be done but I'd expect it to be ok if they checked the water content and DSG oil shouldn't need changed.

I believe VAQ diff oil change is every 2 years/20k miles so if you want to keep your warranty I'd get it done.

Ah.. my mistake... Apologies. It was diff oil that was mentioned you are right. That still seems early to me even for a VAQ. I'd be tempted to download the pukka service manuals and check them myself to confirm the dealer wasn't pulling a fast one as it has been known for them to give advice that differs from the official line.

Also at 2 years I was offered the brake fluid change and an air con filter change. As the car has still done less than 10k miles I opted for the brake fluid (water absorption will be time related), but not the filter (which will be usage related). Seeing as very little else would need doing, I was surprised that the bill came in at over £300, and they didn't even bother to valet it.

Front diff oil at 2 years seems to only be a Skoda thing with the rest of the VAG group saying every 3 years. Just had mine done at the third year along with the brake fluid change. (Neither were done at the 2nd year service before I bought the car).

Thanks all. I'll probably do the brake fluid and diff oil and leave the air con for now. I want to ensure there are no 'get out' clauses with the 3rd year of warranty. I don't normal do brake fluid until at least year 3 but will probably just be a little cautious this time.

Is the full service schedule available anywhere? Doesn't appear to be as forthcoming and the prices don't seem to be as transparent as they were a few years ago when I had the mk3

The VAQ diff service changed from 3 years to 2 years with the Mk4 Octavia.

There is the Skoda attempt at showing service regimes for Fixed Servicing, but that is not accurate, timing belt, DSG,s and the crazy Air Filter.

Brake fluid still at 3 years and not the 2 years for the first and each as some Dealerships are saying.

Bottom pricing as it was till 2019, minor / interim and major on cars 3-10 years Fixed Pricing,

That Major should have been the 2nd one at 4 years, but many were ripped off paying at the first 2 years for parts not replaced.
