It was a 325 (sorry typo:O ) and I AM TELLING THE ****ING TRUTH!

Now now kids play nicely!

I think you will find that telling story be it "true" or "made up" about street racing or whatever you wish to call it will never go down well on here.

The 325 is a mere 192bhp rather than the 193bhp of the 328i. ;)

"a Skoda driven in a spirited or "brisk" manner."??????? ;)

Give the lad a break, he may be telling the truth...... after all, the non VRS doesnt have 4 tonnes of TDI under the bonnet to hold it back. Its all about power-to-weight ratios.

Perhaps someone could find the performance figures of both cars so we can compare ?

Well I just find that it corners better when I control the power now the computer.

I find I can take a corner faster with it off even if the tryers do "squeal" a bit.

Does your car have ASR or ESP?

I love small engines, you can thrash the living hell out of them and still not break too many speed limits.

:) I have ASR

You octy vrs ant exactly a small/underpowered engine.....

Best to turn it of then

I dont have an Octavia VRS, but thats not the point I was making. Small engined cars can be pushed very hard to the extent that the driver feels they are making real progress. Cars liek the New Octavia VRS and MKIV Golf GTi are pretty quick yet they dont feel all that fast.

I have had a 1.2 and 1.4 Fabia courtesy car in the past and found them to be rather gutless compared to the Octavia (even in standard 150bhp spec)

indeed the most fun I've ever had is in my mums old mini, used to really work it hard but never really go that fast........but working it right and it would shame many a quicker (and heavier) car :D

Whats the difference between asr and esp?

None! If you ask a question like that, I regret I suggested the VAG-COM :). It's a dangerous tool, stay away from it.

They are the same?

I wasn't considering the VAG-COM. My car has allready been tuned by professionals I really dont see how I'd get much more power out of it with out shortening the engines life.

You cant use VAG-Com to get more power from your engine. Period.

ESP and ASR are different. Do a search, its been covered many many times before (use the advanced search tool)

You can't ? They what the hell is the point of it?

/does search:O

Useful things done through VAG-COM:

Anti-hijack locking

Disable pad warning ligth if you fit cheapo brake pads

Disable seat belt warning

Setup DIY install cruise control

Diagnose faults and read fault codes from ECU and control modules

Log air flow and torque to see benefits of mods etc.

Realign the throttle body

The lsit goes on and on..... there is a specific sub-forum on here. Go and have a read.

You missed adjust brake balance and ABS cut in point ;)

And making a Fabia beep when the alarm is set.

You missed adjust brake balance and ABS cut in point ;)
Fabia vRS drivers could do with the ABS cut in point adjusting, especially with 312's fitted, didn't realise this could be done, ahwell, too late now lol

Does the ABS not cut in when it "feels" the wheels start to slip?

Surly this does not change when bigger brakes are fitted?

I'm very interested in your afirmation. Please detail this. Maybe in another thread on a right topic, just tell me.

PS: with VAGCOM you cannot modify the engine power, that is true, but that was not what I ment when I said that VAG-COM is a dangerous tool in the hands of an unexperienced.

I just found the ABS to kick in too quickly.

The MR2 breaks traction first' date=' then ABS kicks in, but intermittently breaks traction in between, resulting in faster slowing down.

Hard to explain and I am probably waffling lol
