OCU Fault codes - How do I fix this?

Featured Replies

The below are the fault codes for the OCU in my car. (The entire log is attached).

Is this likely to be a software fix, or am I looking at a part replacement?

Hi,

What symptoms do you face? I mean, what were you looking for when making this scan?

I understand, you tried to erase fault codes in module 75-Telematics and you looked int the long coding on this module too.

Did you intend change something?

Considering there are a lot of DTCs, and some of them already have several months. I would suggest erasing all of them and making a new scan to see which ones actually remain. I feel module 75 may not be the culprit.

BTW, did you ask on the ross-tech forum (assuming your HEX-V2, is an original one)? They saved me 3 or 4 times or at least they helped me checking that my dealer did not try to fool me... 😉

"B2000 49 [00001001] - Internal Electronic Failure

[Control unit defective Analog circuitry]"

based on this fault code, i would assume ur telematics control unit is no good at all and will need to b replaced entirely.

I have the dreaded "SOS call fault: please visit workshop"

This appeared shortly after the dealer updated my software last year.

OK. I think @JR RS may be right.

Do you plan to erase all fault codes and make another scan?

  • Author

I have already tried this.

It does not work.

  • Author

Ok, new scan done.

Less errors

It helps when you follow the instructions of the VCDS. 😉

I will upload the file later.

I made an error with the VCDS and selected the car make and model, rather than doing a CAN auto select scan. 🤡

New full scan attached. My thoughts are (hopefully) it is a software issue (based on the J794 1555 - Check Software Version Management error code).

I have cleared the 5F fault.

  • Author

Three faults.

Everything but the 5F, so I think we are looking at a replacement OCU3.

  • 10 months later...
  • Author

A small update on this point.

Unbeknown to me, I had an extended warranty on the car when I bought it, so alI finally took the car in to get it fixed on Monday (after the service, fault check, warranty claim etc.) and I was told that it is not the OCU that needs changing, but a smaller, less expensive part.

I don't have the detail yet, but the car is going back in on Friday for the fix. Total cost is about €200. I will update the detail when I have it.

Back from the garage. An SOS repair kit was fitted (part number 5WA998085C) which costs less than €10 but including the labour, it cost me less than €200.

Much better than the cost of replacing the OCU itself.
