Is it too expensive?

Featured Replies

I’ve been eyeing up an L&K iV, MY20, it’s only done 180 miles as it’s an ex showroom car.

Sounds great, but they want £25k for it.

What are everyone’s thoughts please?

I wonder if the mileage was just the one journey, Milton Keynes to Rochdale?

Quite possibly.

I’m really torn on it, not sure if there’s risks with it standing around for 5 years doing nothing (especially the hybrid battery)

That's a tough one, feels high though, for comparison there's a 2023 plate L&K IV on Autotrader for £25k with 28K miles on it. Given a choice that would be the one I'd go for. Or a 2020 plate of the same car for £21K with 29K miles.

I hate to think what state a car is in that's been standing around for 5 years.

Could the 12 month warranty be long enough for any of the issues to arise?

As highlighted The trip to Rochdale could be 144 of the miles.

I would be tempted though

But make sure it has a full service history, it should still have been done on "time". Check the warranty conditions.

Has the battery been left for 5 years flat?

I'd be a bit cautious.

But then again that's why I avoided the PHEV.

Had an iV a couple of years ago. (For 3 years)

Took this one on a fairly lengthy test drive, the hybrid battery behaved as expected.

Does anyone know if charging cycles is readable through OBD11 / VCDS?

It has 12 Months manufacturers warranty, and 3 years remaining on the battery warranty.

It’s been serviced as per Skoda requirements.

Is it a Skoda Approved used car, and is it just getting a 2 year warranty if bought using finance?

It is not Serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Advice or Schedule even though it has only done 180 miles.

So brake Fluid is due a change. if that was not done in 2022 or 2024. (Not being serious but they want a sale.)

After all when was it built 2019 and was it bunkered during Covid early 2020 on?

I take it the mileage is from when taken out of In Transit mode at the time of the PDI.

?

Has it actually been in a showroom all this time, or when was the showroom period? Ex Showroom, maybe 3 months.

I just tried to put a link for you to look but

"The advert you are looking for is no longer available but we’ve found some similar vehicles for sale that match your search criteria"

The advert said The car had spent it's life here, which is a Skoda partner in Milton Keynes 144 miles from Rochdale. i imagine for training and research. The model was launched in Jan 2020, the the time this car was registered.

I think someone’s beat me to it

@337 Did you buy it, is that why it's gone?

  • Author

No.

I called to negotiate, someone has reserved it for a test drive tomorrow and would have first refusal.. but now the advert had gone?!?

If the dealer has the facility of putting a deposit on-line that may have removed it, so it might be worth ringing again tomorrow.

The salesman said he’d let me know either way tomorrow

How has it done so little miles? Kinda sounds like a lemon car hmm

Hi 337 , I friend of mine acquired a Skoda Superb some years ago in similar circumstances to your purchase.

Your car has been MOT twice so all appears to be working.

I purchased a Mazda Xodus 6 that was 3 years old with 1800 miles on the clock from a Mazda dealership.

Couple of years ago I was in a Mercedes dealer and they had on show an early example of an E class salon with 50 miles on the clock.
