SOS Emergency call restricted

Featured Replies

Hello!
I have a Skoda Octavia RS diesel 2018.
15 days ago when it was very hot, I got the warning "SOS Emergency call restricted. Workshop!"
The car runs normally, only the yellow triangle is on all the time, and it appears every time I turn it on.

After 3 days, the warning disappeared. For 5 days, everything was normal, and then it appeared again when the car was parked in the sun for a long time. It's been 5 days and the warning is still there.
I tried to reset the multimedia (long press the power button), but the warning did not disappear.

Has anyone had such a problem and how to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

What say the Error Log?

How can I see the error log?

With a good Diagnose Tool

Sorry, but I don't have a diagnostic device.

then you can only try pulling the fuse once for about 20 minutes where the sos module is also protected

Do you know which fuse I need to pull out for 20 minutes?

I found a fuse box diagram online.

https://fuse-box.info/skoda/skoda-octavia-mk3-5e-2017-2018-fuse-box-diagram

According to that diagram, I should remove fuse 17?!

I took out the fuse and after 30 minutes I put it back in. I started the car and the warning is there again.

Maybe some other solution?

@Fuki @Cairus any update?

I have the same issue. The only difference is that, in my case, it appeared after the battery was disconnected for service. After reconnecting the same old battery, I initially received multiple error messages. After a short test drive, all other errors cleared, and only the Emergency Call warning remained.

The SOS button on the roof is lit green. I have already completed a longer, three-hour road trip, and the car was connected to a charger for an entire day, but the issue persists. I also tried pressing the SOS button and canceling the call on the infotainment system before it connected, but that did not help.

For me, the warning always appears when I turn the ignition on.

Clear Error Log With Diagnostic Tool

Please don't random "pull" a fuse thinking it will fix the problem or not.

IMHO - most of the issues with Emergency call and info button not working was down to bugs in the MIB system. If you have a MIB2.5 Amunsden, then get it patched to 0480 as a minimum, clear out the faults and then try again.
