Octavia 2025 FL - GPS inaccuracy

Featured Replies

Hello all,

i have the 2025 octavia FL selection (with the 10 inch ), for the past few weeks, i have problem with the GPS accuracy while using Android auto..

when using Maps or Waze, it shows that i am not in the road that i am in, thus, if i drive on highway it shows i am in the city..

i tired using the Maps or Waze without connecting to the Android auto, and it worked perfectly.

i tried to factory reset the infotainment but it didn't work..

i could not find anywhere a statement that the android auto is using Car's GPS antenna and not the phone..

i hope someone will be able to help me or give me any clue how to solve it..

p.s, i get the internet connection error all the time, but i don't think there is internet connection for Skoda in Israel..

thanks in advance..

GPS "accuracy" is dependant on how many satellites the unit can detect.

That's because even when connected to the car by Android Auto the phone map apps such as Maps and Waze still use the phones GPS antenna.

Hey, quick update.
after checking with the Leasing company, they didn't find any problem with the car's infotainment, or GPS antenna within the car.

after farther investigation, found out it was the Android auto corrupted version in my phone.

wanted to bump this post, as i have still have lots of problems using the android auto and navigation

every time my phone connected (either with cable or wireless) i have GPS problems using Waze or Google maps.

when my phone is not connected, works perfect (same rout)

tried disabling location for the android auto app, didn't help..

does anyone else had such problem?

fyi, i have Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Does your cellphone have a clear view of the sky when you are using it to navigate?

Does your vehicle have a heated windscreen?

yes, my phone has clear view, as i put it in the cup holder. also, the wireless charge pad is turned off.

and no, my car dont have heated windscreen, only the rear one has.

If your cup holder is in the console between the seats, that may well not allow the GPS antenna a clear enough view of the sky.

@TomerB2025 - I'd agree with @Warrior193 that "sown between the seats may give no view of the sky at all.

I have been asked to check GPS accuracy. I would normally use the survey point for an OSGB Trig Point and sometimes get a good Lat/Long, but a sink rate of about 10m/s.
