Driving Score on the Skoda app

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried out the Driving Score option on the Skoda app and what do you think of it?

I have used the driving score previously but earlier in the year it was removed from the app, and posts on here confirmed the same. Have you got the driving score on a current version of MY Škoda as it certainly hasn’t re appeared on mine.

It was removed on the previous update due to unpopularity and owners concerns over data sharing.

Skoda also removed it from the UK website.

Thank you both for your replies which explain why I can no llonger find it in the app.

As the driving score was an optional thing, I don't see any problem with data sharing - if you use Driving Score you share data, if you don't, then you don't. After all, in one way or another you share data just driving your car.

Don't have it on my app.

It was removed as some owners realised they had been speeding which the app had recorded, unsurprisingly it was unpopular with these people who complained to Skoda UK, but those who liked the feature now don't have it either which is a shame, a few spoilt it for the many springs to mind.

I think the fault and the removal lies with the amount of government snooping.

If the data was private then there would be no issue. The fact the Skoda UK could be compelled to provide the data to HMG and it agencies is probably what drove the decision.

The only way to stop Skoda having the data was to enter privacy mode which makes all their paid for services unuseable.

They saw an immediate drop in renewals and owners asking for refunds.

People are worried, there's already cases across the pond where insurers got hold of similar data stored by GM and people saw the insurance sky rocket.

It's not just about speeding, it's driving at night, on more risky roads, accelerating, braking and cornering too harsh. etc. etc.

...and as we now all know I am sure it's possible to hack all modern cars if you can gain access to the dealer database. So It's probably safer if they have less data on you rather than more.
