Heated Screen switches off after 2 seconds....

Afternoon all

I have read all I can find on here re the dreaded HS but my issue is that the switch light goes off after a couple of seconds after pressing it - relay shows no corrosion - it didnt work with old screen, new screen fitted still doesn't work - baffled!

Car is 2013 Skoda Octavia Mk3 1.4 TSI (CHPA), manual, 118k km driven. Today I noticed an A/C-related droning/humming noise that seems louder than before, but I'm having trouble pinpointing the source. Symptoms: Only occurs when A/C is on. Noise stops immediately when I press the A/C button off (cabin fan still on), Most noticeable at idle and especially after revving the engine and letting RPM drop back to idle. I have owned my Karoq 140TSI Sportline for a few months now, and there is only one thing that bugs me. I travel on motorways a lot in Australia, where we drive on the left side of the road. When I am driving in the left or middle lane with the ACC operational, I notice that the ACC will match the speed of the vehicle in the next lane over (either the middle or the rightmost).
