Bluetooth issues

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Apparently my Bolero multimedia system is too old to communicate properly with my phone and when I try to listen to music on Spotify, the system skips songs for no reason at all.

From what I can understand, the hardware is too old and I can't upgrade the firmware.

My goal is to listen to music properly with the ability to skip songs using the buttons on the wheel, and to have phone calls via the car's speakers.

Does anyone have this problem as well? How did you deal with it?

Thanks in advance

Are you sure its a Bolero unit? it looks like my Amundsen mib2 (does it have x2 SD card slots?) Your symptoms sound like the digitizer is dying as that causes all sorts of random things to happen, especially when its cold, random calls, changing radio stations and listened to music.
its a cheap repair using a new digitizer off e-bay and a video on you tube, takes about an hour to do yourself, just need a set of Torx screwdrivers and a bit of patience

Actually, It could definitely be Amundsen mib2.

I bought this car about a month ago and I'm learning this subject via ChatGPT - we all know how misleading it can be...

When you say that the digitizer is dying, do you mean the touch screen (as indicated in your link)?

Because, when I bought the car, the touch screen didn't work and the dealer that sold it to me replaced.

With my new touch screen, I could finally pair my phone and I started experiencing what you stated -

random calls (didn't happen yet), changing radio stations (happened 2-3 times) skipping songs on Spotify (happens all the time)

I'm not saying it is for certain but it is a possibility even thought the dealer said he replaced it, most of these are chinese and there's no certainty on quality.
i did mine and as in the video, overlaid the new one over the faulty one. I cut the connector off the faulty one and it took two tries to get it right, no problems in the 2 years since I did it

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

I read yesterday that sometimes the auto start-stop could mess up the Bluetooth and if I turn it off it may solve the problem.

I cant guarantee it but today I went for a short drive, turned it off and my playlist played smoothly.

I really hope that its a solution for this issue. A strange solution but if it works, it would make me happy.
