Service intervals and other gubbins

Featured Replies

I bought my MK2 Fabia getting on 2 months ago no and I can't find a single fault other than VAGs lovely swing radio.

I'm doing about 30000 miles a year and would love to keep on to of servicing. I know the car has a built in counter but can't tell if I'm reading it correctly.

I am reading it that I need to service in 5.7k miles or am I going nuts.

Also what are there any recommendations on parts e.g. oil brands and any recommendations for not always thought of "service" items

Thanks for any help is greatly appreciated 👍

No idea about your screen. When set etc.

You need the Servicing set on Flexible / Variable. Oil Service & Inspection service if is shows Inspection.

18,000 - 20,000 miles / 24 months not 372 days / 9,400 miles.

Long Life oil used, VW504 00 / 507 00, 5w 30 FS III.

PS

What engine has the car got?

PPS

I see a 2014 1.2 TSI, but had to look at the profile to know.

Yeah it's a 1.2 TSI apologies I forgot to add that.

This is my conundrum as it was serviced at the dealership before I bought it and I have no clue what oil was used. And as well as that I'm in sure about how to check if it is set to fixed or variable

From what you are saying with 18-20k I might do it every 6 months as that is just under 18k otherwise I'll have some odd intervals.

I don't suppose you know is off brand vcds cables are any good as I am probably going to need on to reset service intervals?

It would be surprising if VW502 00, so 5w 40 FS not Long Life was used. But life is full of surprises.

I think you can reset your type of Screen without plugging in.

But if it was changed from Variable to Fixed it needs plugged in to change back.

Others will know.

PS

Replace Spark Plugs every 40,000 miles.
