Dpf clogged

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Dpf filter warning light has come on. I've done two journeys to try to burn the soot, keeping above 2500rpm for over 30 mins, the second journey had cataclean in the tank, but neither journey worked.

I bought a carista Evo and it's showing 60grams of soot!

I've tried forcing a regen through the carista app, but I don't think it's worked as shows 60 grams still after another 30 minute high rpm trip.

Do I assume the filter is too clogged up to enable a regen?

Is my only option a new dpf filter, or is there something else I could try?

2l yeti diesel with the dreaded emissions fix done (before I bought it!)

Many thanks for any help.

Paul.

There some companies that offer proper DPF cleaning, maybe Google to find one in your area.

I’ve got nothing else I’m afraid, apart from replacing it.

Definitely worth a go with a professional cleaner (rather than a random bloke with a pressure washer/ blaster) - read people's reviews first.

Also, I know it's more money, but you could also get the fix reversed / mapped out.

I'm going for a clean first to see if that fixes the issue, big it does, I'll consider the reversal of the fix, or even deleting the egr valve and putting a blanking plate in. Fed up with the carbon/soot deposits!
