annoying message on startup

Featured Replies

Hello,

since one week i get this new message on startup who said:

"please charge your phone. For your safety please don't use your mobile when driving"

Even my phone is fully charged !

anyone get something like this ? i really want to kill that thing: i work with my car and someday i go in and out the car 10 time a days, so very annoying disabling all the ****ty message, start&stop... ten time every days

Yeah also got it since a week ago. Though I had no updates to the car nor to the phone.

Yes, I'm getting this too. Another well tested software update from VAG.

Android Auto updated a week ago, apparently. I think the issue lies there.

I also think the problem is most likely to be AA.
Those encountering the above mentioned issue - did you try to Clear Cache and Data in AA on your phone?
(I'm not saying it will definitely help, but it's worth a try)

Unfortunately, that did not help.

Yes, this notification is really annoying, it appears after every cold START. I tried not to press ok, thinking that it would disappear by itself, no it didn't disappear for at least 15 minutes, until I got tired of it. Who should I report this software problem to, it's very annoying to have to poke at the screen every time!

(I can't see where you're from)

There is another update for AA available today. Hopefully this one will fix stuff. You may find complaints about that from people driving other cars as well, so Skoda has nothing to do with that.

Do you have something newer than version 15.2.653614 (Sept. 16th on my phone)?

Installed yesterday 15.2.653624, issue is still there.

I have seen messages about the same issue across multiple car makes (not just Audi/VW, etc) so it does appear to be an Android Auto issue. One person on a Reddit thread suggested that turning off Power Save on the phone made the problem go away. Do you have power save / battery save mode activiated? I haven't seen the message despite being on the affected version of AA and I don't use battery saver mode.

The issue is not on the list of fixed or "being worked on" issues in Android Auto - https://support.google.com/androidauto/thread/97890637/android-auto-known-issues-updated-9-16-2025?hl=en-GB&sjid=11038993646045078532-EU

yes I tested it today, turned off the battery saver, and the unnecessary statement doesn't appear. AA 15.2.653614

yes for me too ! thank you @jay982bea

15.3.653834 solved the issue.

I had that. And last week, it resolved itself. Put it down to the car being... well, a little bit buggy. Good to see I wasn't the only one.

Achtung! Don't update your AA, cause the same annoying message is back in 15.6.654444.
