Supurb sportline dashboard errors

Featured Replies

Hi , hope someone can help

Weve recently brought a supurb and are having a few problems the car is an automatic and occasionly will judder then the dashboard will light up like a christmas tree..( photo attached)

No one seems to be able to find out why , weve list faith in the car .. which is such a shame

Weve changed all four tyres , and the abs wiring loom .. but still doing it .

Would be so grateful for any advise, we even took it to skoda ( who were useless and said there was no problem)

I had the same problem on my Octavia (with the same errors in the display) and the fault was caused by an Wheel Speed Sensor Error.

It was intermittent because the signal some times worked but it was an easy fix (€30 sensor) and should be 1 hour work.

Fabulous, ill try it..

I'll try anything !

Thanks

Here is a link to the post I made about it with some screenshots & methods for investigating the fault with an OBD tool & free app.

I have a Carista Bluetooth adapter which was €17 in Amazon and am using a free app on Android to read the DTCs & live data

Smashing thanks for your help

Hmm why did you change the abs wiring loom and which one? You really need to get it scanned before chucking parts at it.

Looks like wheel speed sensor issues as I’ve had that recently but a scan will show you whats up

Hello, welcome to the forum.

What engine do you have - TSI or TDI?

Has the battery been tested?

When you get the DTCs scanned - after testing the battery, look for anything relating to intermittent crank or cam position sensor faults.

Weve had it scanned at skoda main dealer and another independent garage

... And what were the DTCs found?

You haven't said yet what engine you have.

We have a TDI

Sorry whats a DTC?

when it went to skoda there was nothing showing on the dash, they had no idea but gave us a quote of nearly 4000.00

Of things it could be... including a possible oil leak...!

They were absolutely useless and had no clue didn't even take it for a run to see

Weve driven it around for the last 2 days .. no problems

Yet today.. lights up like a christmas tree and losing power

Fault codes 👍🏻

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. These are accessed by plugging a reader device into the vehicles OBD port - did your dealer do that? If so, did they give you a printed read out of any DTCs recorded?

It sounds to me that you need to go to someone competent to get this checked.

Has the battery been tested?

Mine did something similar and it's the 12v battery. When was it last replaced?

Just my 2 Cents, but the 3 biggest cause of random issues featuring a Christmas Lights display seem to be Depleted Battery, ABS Sensor followed by Cam position sensor, although the last refers to more of a drivability issue.

Sometimes they are - but not necessarily so.
