3rd brake light

Featured Replies

Hi all, my high level 3rd brake light on my 2008 estate is failing, I've lost a few of thE LEDs and the lens is damaged. Can anyone point me to a reliable replacement or have one for sale as i have now ordered 2 from ebay that claim to be correct but have arrived and are either completely incorrect or otherwise faulty!

Thanks!

I bought one of these for my Fabia estate 5j a few years ago from Autodoc at the time it was around £30 for the lens and the led's i had to use the old housing as to renew that it was a main dealwer part only; the only drawback with autodoc is the delivery chatrge --aroung £9.00 and you might wait a week for delivery, i had a look on LLL Parts but the price was rather high for a genuine replacement lens and a set of Led's , I too used ebay but landed up returning them as they did not fit my model which was a MK2 5J estate LLL parts do show you the part numbers if you need them Autodoc just gives you the lens and LED's but the website when you put your details in was correct and it did fit

I bought an aftermarket Hella one for mine. It didnt quite fit but a small bead of black silicone cured it. Only problem is that it must be a different wattage as my blown bulb light comes on. Not that bothered as its a works car/shed and the brake light got through MOT

Hey guys sorry I've not been back i ordered what appears to be the correct part on ebay so just waiting for it to show up. Looks like it doesn't have that sealing foam stuff on it so ill probably use a bead of black silicone. Pretty sure I've got RTV laying around that will do the job! Just in case this is wrong I don't suppose you have a link to the one your purchased alasdair? Luckily my car doesn't care about blown bulbs. Not sure why but I guess its a 2008 maybe they hadn't implemented that yet!

Sorry dont have a link. Got two off amazon. One was a hella and the other chinese rubbish that didnt work but was so cheap I didnt bother to return it. As said didnt fit exactly but a bead of black silicone sealed it in.
