Coolant leak

Featured Replies

Hi all, i have an 18 plate 1.5 petrol engine.

it has an annoying coolant leak on the left hand side of the engine, im struggling to pin point exactly where it is coming from so thought i would ask the masses for some thoughts.

on the bottom left of the engine there are a couple of black plastic caps that are held in by torque bolts, do these contain coolant?

or is there a know place on the back left side of the engine that cant be seen from above that i can double check on?

i will add that i know its coolant as the expansion tub keeps draining, the colour is orange and my ac hasnt worked since i got the car

Many thanks all

  1. Look for the top of a trail of crusty white crystals in the suspect area.

  2. Unlikely the leak is an a/c fault. Best legal suggestion is to call a mobile a/c service.

@Paws4Thot no crusty trail from the coolant and the leak is nothing ac related.

Thanks
