ACC issue in very wet weather.

Featured Replies

I understand that new combined sensor for the adaptive cruise control is using radar and camera. So when front camera gets foggy in cold wet weather ACC fails with "Sensor impaired error". Is this repairable? Should I claim it under warranty?

If it were me, I definitely would. The more reported errors the more effort that should hopefully put in to resolve them.

Hello, welcome to the forum.

If travelling in heavy rail and the windscreen is fogging sufficiently to mask the interior camera, perhaps the driving conditions are not really suitable to be using cruise.

Well my 2016 Superb had no issues like that in 9 years. It only failed in very snowy conditions which was expected with snow covering the front completely. So the new ACC is not as robust as previous version.

Definitely get it looked at under warranty. Turns out the software on the mk4 Superb is atrocious - riddled with bugs and issues. Mine's booked in for a 3-day software update next month, which I'm told will hopefully solve a very long list of problems which I've encountered since purchasing six months ago. Apparently, updating from software baseline PV2 to PV4 (which, as far as I can tell, is pretty much what service campaign 90EE was all about) will resolve all my issues. We'll see...

Gareth,

Hopefully it will sort your issues. The new version seems to have many fewer issues……..🤞

Skoda Bristol said the sensor needed calibration - picking the car today hopefully this was final fix.

Had one very short episode when censor failed again but none since that one so still monitoring.

Glad I'm not alone with this problem. ACC and its 'partners' go offline when there is bad weather like ice/snow for me. The dealer had my vehicle for almost three months earlier in the year due to a 'cable loom' problem which was causing constant pinging from the safety systems going offline/online.
