Renault Aero wipers fitted today

Featured Replies

They are fine; yes the tips are a bit close to each other when parked but they never actually touch and of course the drivers blade goes up the screen first.

This is on a Fabia - it looks like you drive an Ibiza, though, so i'll keep fingers crossed that you are OK.

Have a safe journey.

Don't get me wrong, they're fine, and operate perfectly. Just wasn't expecting them to be so close, but yes, they never actually touch on mine either. And yes, I now drive an Ibiza - Mk4 TDi Sport 130.

I know of people on SCN who've fitted them to Ibizas too, so knew they'd be OK.

Equipped with the following part number (77 11 236 178 for Megane II – 600/450mm 24/18”) I strode confidently into my local Renault dealer this afternoon happy in the thought of success. Then .. "Can't find that number guv".. "not on the system mate"...... He did try, but only managed some standard replacements or aero wipers that fit on to the new style arms ... What am I doing wrong? Help!

Seems he's incapable of using Renault's parts system! I confirmed with my local parts dept about them over the phone, he took that part number from me, looked it up, told me they didn't have them in stock and I picked them up the next day. No complications, questions or delays!

I'd try another dealer.

Right thanks for the info. Have just checked with the local Renault dealer and he is quoting

Yes; they'll be fine; don't worry.

I bet someone in Parts Dept of Renault's Ivory Tower is wondering why all their Meganes need new wipers this winter!!

Aftermarket retro-fit aero wiper are available in the UK to fit to the existing wiper arms of the Fabia or anything else with traditional wiper fitments.

Just got my set delivered today from www.autobulbsdirect.com

They are not made by Bosch but are good quality. They are made by Classic, part of their Professional range. Worth a look.

Better get that sorted mate - haven't they started sending out automatic fines these days?!

I only realised on Friday night (the 1st) after a forum posting set off an alarm in the back of my head. I'm in the middle of moving house so it wasn't that high on the priority list.

Two options :

1) find my insurance certificate in one of 14 boxes of stuff and get to the post office next day

2) hit the internet site and use the electronic validation.

So I did 2) as I was scared of a non-payment fine. The only problem with 2) is that it takes 5 days to post out... So I've technically got road tax but I can be penalised for failure to display. I've been done for failure to display before when I went away on holiday and got back on the 2nd of the month. I had bought the new disc ( :D ) but forgot to change it over before I went. Car was parked on the road outside the flat and a copper just happened to walk past. So
