Skoda superb mk3 sportline, boot/lights issue

Featured Replies

I’m having an issue with my 2017 Škoda Superb 2.0 TDI SportLine and was hoping for some advice. The boot electrics are acting up — the boot lights and the removable torch only work intermittently.

I’m also having problems with the keyless boot opening feature. When I try to open the boot while the car is locked, the locking mechanism goes a bit crazy, as if the car thinks I’ve left the keys inside.

Additionally, when I do open the boot, the car doesn’t register it on the dashboard as an open door.

Has anyone come across this before, or know what might be causing it and how to fix it?

I think there’s something about looking at where the loom comes from the roof to the boot, see if there is any damage to the accordion pipe that the wires run through.

Thanks Travs.

I’ve checked this but there’s no obvious damage. I haven’t removed the pipe, but when I wriggle it, nothing happens.

cold or broken solder joints on the micro switches of the tailgate lock

Thank you

I’m pretty sure it isn’t the wires. Will give this a look. Is it an easy fix ?

I’m more than happy to be corrected by those that know far more than me - and @Cairus definitely knows more.

“Solder” makes it a hard job for me but it’s subjective. Plenty wouldn’t have a problem pulling the board out and touching up the solder on it. Depends on your skills!
