Star Performance or Jabba Sport?

Featured Replies

Hi there, fairly new to Briskoda

I have an 2001 Octavia VRS which has been remapped by Jabba sport with boost controller, sport decat etc. Looking for advice on where to get my cambelt changed, I thought it may be a good idea to get Jabba to do the change since they have done the performance related work, but since I live in Edinburgh would be quicker going to Star Performance in Kirkcaldy. Has anyone been to either to have their cambelt done? Oh and my cars done 69,000 miles and no record of a timing belt change so am looking to get it done pronto.

cheers

Just get a VW/Seat/Skoda dealer to do it - but get them to change the water pump for one with metal blades at the same time. You will have to supply the pump though as the standard ones have plastic blades.

Do a search for water pump related threads on here.

Thought Jabba had a Scottish agent for them?

Star are changing my cambelt/tensioner and waterpump at next service, Almost half the stealer price and use VAG genuine parts too.

HTH

I'd use Star as well, have a great reputation for Skoda and VAG cars, as has been said quite a lot use them for servicing not just performance mods.

Jabba have an agent in Motherwell ( Beddrock VW ) but all i can say is they get mixed reviews, I havn't used them for that reason.
