Hello.. I have a skoda superb

Featured Replies

Laurin & Klement 2016,i have had it for 3 years thanks to your advice 😊 (I love it)

The stop start button is really moody now, I wondered if it is easy to change myself and also if its OK to buy one that isn't Scoda branded £70...or £10

Thank you for any help.

Ps.. I hope it is just the button and not something else.

Are you certain that it's the button that's at fault - what are your symptoms?

Do the Crossed A symbol and message appear in the instrument cluster when the button is pressed?

Intermittent inhibition of stop/start, when required vehicle parameters are normal, is usually caused by low battery SOC, either from short trips, or failing battery.

Thank you for the quick reply, I am almost sure it's the button, it is a bit bashed in from pushing it so often, but when I connects the car starts straight away, the battery is really good.

No crossed symbol.. As soon as it connects the car starts. 🙂

I don't understand - 'as soon as it connects the car starts' - as soon as what connects?

I mess about with the wobbly button and when it engages with the car the car starts straight away

The OP means the starter ignition button, not stop/start button.

Ps I ordered a new button as well £12.00 from amazon

@nickysavage I had issues, having to press the button harder to start the car. I followed the cleaning routine and I have not had a problem since. It’s really quite simple to do if you take your time.

OK thank you very much, I am going to try it now. I'll report back. 🙂

I put the new £12.00 button in and my car starts and stops immediately.. First time for a year, luxury 🙂🙂
