MIB2.5 Firmware update Software 1163

Featured Replies

Currently doing the Maps which are from when the ca was produced - 2018.

With this in mind I have the following -

Hardware H54

Software 1163

Is the software as old as the car, 2018. If so what would be the update process and where can I get the files to do this.

Stick your VIN into https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com and you'll be able to download it.

I'll be around 16GB zipped, which will expand to ~22GB unzipped, so you'll need a 32GB+ USB stick or SD card (both SDHC and SDXC is supported).

Is that for the satnav maps only or is that both?

That’s for Satnav maps only.

You extract (prefer 7zip over winzip as the latter can cause a checksum error) to the stick/card and then leave it plugged in. It breaks down the file into loads of chunks and sets lots of bookmarks/savepoints so when you drive short journeys and it doesn’t finish a segment it doesn’t need to start again, just picks up from where it last saved.

Just keep checking your system page and eventually the navigation database number will update.

Be careful when performing a firmware update. If you switch from G11 to G13, only the large 9.2" display will work with the radio.

I have the G13 already, just done the firmware update via @JR RS doc and it worked, now on firmware 1440 from 1163

Everything seems to work so far

Yes indeed, used the same stick for the Firmware and the maps

Just got to sort this SOS error which appeared as soon as the firmware update started

Ordered one from Amazon, so hoping that can reset it

Tools from Amazon didn’t seem to work but holding down the power button on the stereo seemed to work today
