Mileage

Featured Replies

Thinking about aquiring a 2.0 ltr .petrol auto sportsline. What sort of fuel consumption can expect ?

In 12,000 miles my overall mpg is 35 mpg, trips less than 20 miles 28 mpg, long 100 mike plus 45 mpg.

Around town around 30mpg, Motorways and longer journeys 40-45mpg for me.

Over 5+ years in mine I have averaged 35.6 mpg. The highs are when making making long motorway journeys at 70, when I get 45+, and the lows are winter shopping trips of 8 miles out and back when I get around 30.

TBH, this is a piece of string question but fwiw I agree with CJJE's and PedalBin's figure for my MY22 1.5L DSG.

Every one of the following will have an impact on what anyone can achieve.
Traffic? Time of day you drive? Long commute or multiple short journeys? How much Pb in your right foot? Driving Mode? Passengers? Cargo?

I think CJJE might have a 2.0 TSI (as do I). As you say so many factors that affect mpg. My daily commute was on a north / south motorway and the mpg was generally the same each way. But when I do long journeys on essentially east / west routes there is always a difference the westerly journey is always lower mpg (higher consumption) presumably due to prevailing wind. With dashboard displays of instant and avg since start is easy to monitor fuel usage.

Interesting! I did a 50 mile each way trip earlier in the week. The westbound trip gave 49.6 mpg, and the later eastbound trip gave 44.0 mpg. Generally I find that my mpg is slightly better on a return trip than outbound. I put this down to the engine perhaps being a little freer as it may stll be warm.
