Wheel replacement.

Featured Replies

My 2024 Vrs has 19 inch Altair wheels marked internally with 5E3 601 025 T and SE3 601 025 AT also 7.5Jx 19H2 ET48. I have one damaged wheel that would cost about £200 to repair, and have found new wheels online at prices that make me think of buying one and using the damaged one as a spare. It will fit in the boot well. The trouble is that the new wheels have different part numbers e.g. 5E3 071 499 AB HA7. Is there any way of finding out which wheels are compatible despite different part numbers.

The below three ALTAIR alloy rims are listed in the "Skoda alloy rim accessory catalogue".

HA7 Anthracite

The OEM part number format xxx601xxx means the alloy rims are factory alloy rims or from the standard Skoda parts catalogue.

The OEM part number format xxx071xxx means the alloy rims are from the "Skoda alloy rim accessory catalogue".

Alloy rims from the "Skoda alloy rim accessory catalogue" might be about 60% less expensive than alloy rims from the standard Skoda parts catalogue because Skoda use the "Skoda alloy rim accessory catalogue" to compete on price with aftermarket alloy rims.

The only difference is the OEM part number and sometimes the colour can also be different (if the three-digit colour code is different).

The three-digit colour code should be cast into the back of the alloy rim.

I have found a new rim online at a good price and am now trying to get the seller to look at the part number, meantime skoda-parts.com has them at a little over £300 plus delivery from the Czech Republic

The local Skoda dealer is having a laugh with a £900 quote! Also, quoted me well over £400 (plus VAT?) to do the first service, just an oil change and brake fluid change. Local Indy is £250!

I bought the new rim, delivered today after DHL took 10 days to deliver it! I am going to have a full size spare.

Skoda promote their service plans quite heavily in order to bring the overall price down. I recently had similar quotes from Skoda and a local independent garage. However, with the service plan If you take the basic plan which covers 2 services at £22.50/month over 24 months interest free, then the cost of each service comes down to £270.

Worth looking at what each service plan includes if you need things like spark plugs, etc. In the next 2 years I don't, so the basic plan worked out best for me.

They did not offer me a service plan, so I have just booked with the local independent, which is also a VW group specialist.
