DSG Reset for Octavia Mk4 PHEV TSI

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been browsing for a how to on resetting the DSG on Octavia PHEV (MK4).

Many of the videos on Youtube are for the old sort DSG (VW) vehicles with ignition keys, whereas in the PHEV, it's push to start. I've found a couple of VW push to start versions videos but it didn't work on the Skoda Mk4 Octavia 1.4 TSI PHEV.

So, my question is what is the correct method of resetting the DSG on the Skoda Mk4 Octavia 1.4 TSI PHEV ?

Why do you feel you need to reset the DSG?

Turning the ignition on with a key or by pushing a button does exactly the same thing. More likely that that method of pushing down pedals and counting doesn’t do anything, especially not reset DSG gearbox. You need VCDS or similar to do that if you really think it needs reset.

my driving style differs from summer and winter as I live very far north. In the summers we can use acceleration, whilst in the winter, as it's mostly below freezing I need to drive cautiously and calmly. Without the reset, the DSG cannot adjust itself to driving style on it's own and makes rapid and accelerated gear changes, which causes the tires to slip on icy roads. Resetting the DSG allows the TCU to "relearn" your driving style.

I have to disagree. It's possible to reset DSG with ignition and pedal combination on most VAG vehicles. I have experienced it already on VW Passat and T-ROC, Audi A4. I'm sure there's a way without OBD connection,.

I’ve also experienced a reset on an A3 Audi 2.0 TDI, however that was a 66 plate. The current new motors require some form of intervention, VCDS or OTIS or whatever it’s called, is my belief.
