Intrusive fuel pump whine, is it normal?

Featured Replies

I've just test-driven a 2016 2.0TDI Outdoor. The tank was nearly empty with 75 miles range left.

The car was very nice but there is an intrusive whine coming from the fuel pump. The garage has said they will fix it if I put a deposit on the car, and will return my deposit if they couldn't.

Is this whine normal?

PS It's my first post, please be gentle :)

Quite possible. But, I have never let my tank go that low in 8 years of ownership.

But if they say they will fix, go for it, as long as you road test it again.

If its still there, then walk away until it's fixed.

Maybe it's the Ad Blue pump. Ours is a bit whiny.
