Someone on here has a car dilema and for the purpose of this survey shall remain anonymous.

This person currently has a very nice Fabia VRS but has been offered a pretty good part-ex deal on a nearly new OctyII vRS which this person could afford if he/she wanted to. The car in question is the dogs danglies i.e. has all the extras you could possibly want and in that lush blue, question is that he/she doesn't really need the car but only desires it, what should he/she do?.

Well most cars above a £150 old banger could be classed as a desire rather than a need, so if he/she really wants it he/she should go for it.

She should keep her car, because once the extra insurance and running costs have been factored in it may not seem such a good buy;)

Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy. Buy the Octy.......

Vrs Fabia diesel - 50-55 mpg

Octy VRs - 35mpg? ish I guess

Octy would be nice - if she is in the city stick to the fabia as she can park it easy - I drive a Fabia if I have to go to the city just because it fits in tiny gaps.

Depends what the PX deal is like....

Has she test drove the Octy VRS?

He (Stu?! ;)) should ditch his Fabia and get a proper sports car (Fabia 2.0 anyone?) ;)

Chris

they don't really need a Fabia vRS either...if they can comfortably afford to own and run the OctyII vRS I say get it - It's going to be quicker and probably more comfy too :)

Last week only got 23 mpg from swmbo around town, still worth it imo but costs are double the Fabia.

Octy 2 vRS in white :)

Or a Golf GT 1.4 (wicked drive :) )

Or a Golf GT 1.4 (wicked drive :) )

Any more detail ?.... I have been fairly interested by this engine since they first announced the 1.4 Turbo and Super-charger concept ages ago . Puts out 140 bhp doesn't it?

Go for it stu you know it makes sense:D but don't tell chrissy till you got it on the driveway ;)

More than my life is worth.

Another option

Buy a 2.0 Octy PD 140 Derv Elegance - Like I am. Then take it to Jabba

A nice car it maybe but it ain't quite in the same league as the vRS .

Or if economy's a worry, hold off for the 170bhp model (and get it Custom Coded ;))....

Chris

If I could I would.

If you want it and can afford it.......

DO IT

:D

Bah, no longer anonymous :( still, another one on the slippery slope ;)

Don't you think I've spent enough already?

Might be some bargain Fabia mods coming on the market soon though.
