Disable alarm

Featured Replies

How do I disable the alarm when lockinv the car? Handbook says long press on key fob when locking but didn’t work on recent ferry trip.

I don't know for the Mk4 - but on the Mk3 I believe it's a double press of the lock button, you could try that.

Thanks Warrior. Works the same on the Mk 4

I gather the double lock press disables the deadlocks - this is a precaution against passengers being unable to exit vehicle while it is locked (Safelock), so it makes sense that the alarm is disabled at the same time.

On the bottom of the B-pilar there is a button to disable the alarm.

Car alarm won't go off when it tilts when being towed or on a ferry.

Have checked on my 24 reg estate and no button. Must have been removed as a cost-cutting option.
