Featured Replies

Hi

How to fix columbus mib3 update error?

The map update (26.2) was done via USB-C. After the update, the infotainment (superb 3 mib3) restarts repeatedly after 45 seconds.

Thanks for the information

I'm afraid the map update went wrong.
The car was on the charger, but when I arrived after 3 hours, the dashboard was off.
After turning on the dashboard, the dashboard reported low voltage.
It's possible that the map update was interrupted.
And now I don't know how to reinstall the map update because the infotainment repeatedly restarts after 40 seconds

Make 332 Firmware Update

Make 332 Firmware Update

I have updated the firmware from 330 to 332.
Unfortunately the infotainment keeps restarting after 40 seconds.
I think I need to reinstall the faulty map update.
But I don't know how.

Map updates don’t need to be “started”; you just plug in the usb stick and it starts automatically. It also doesn’t need to be done in one process as the system sets lots of restart points as it’s done while driving and switching off.

So if you were doing just map updates, it shouldn’t matter that the dash switched off. It would just restart when back on again.

It does sound like the firmware is corrupted in some way though. Do you have enough time to hold down “Menu” button to get it into engineering mode?

Yes I have enough time. I can restart Infotainment to engineering mode. I also updated the firmware from 330 to 332. The problems with restarting Infotainment persist. As soon as Infotainment starts loading maps automatically it restarts

Hmmmmm….

@Cairus is it possible to remove the FEC code for SatNav, so it doesn’t try to load? Then plug in the USB to see if the maps will update?

Maybe, i can Test IT, with my Device

Another possible option: use a diagnostic tool to access the 5F control unit, go to basic settings, delete navigation data (this should format the navigation system's memory area), then insert a USB stick containing the navigation data.
